Follow rediff and u'll get one set of pix everyday.
I dont know why, dont know whether it is right or wrong, but i got this feeling for some time now?!?!

What if, what only if, the Indian contituency was not written by a person who had to face the wrath of such oppression in his childhood days!!! What only if B.R.Ambhedkar had also been a "i was born rich, learnt my law in Oxford or Cambridge" kind of guy!!! I get a sick feeling that coz of his personal experiences he has amplified a bit in this regard.

Or perhaps he dint know what kind of ppl will become politicians by the time the deadline he had set woudl arrive :)
    Poor him.

Well it's like 'coffee bite', the argument never ends when we discuss if reservation is needed or not. Forget about why it originated, why it needs to be increased after 50 plus years of independence? Of course, everybody knows why the government is doing this, rather why Arjun Singh pushes this when his own party is not unanimous on this. Nevertheless the brutality needs to be strongly condemned. The police treating the medicos worse than a bunch of goons is really disgusting.

Do u still think we gotta work with this caste based stuff for "upliftment" of ppl da?!?! I dont!!!
I have a friend who's dad joined under mine and ended up in probably the third or fourth highest position in Southern railway. And btw - he's as educated as my dad is (and that's a PUC!!!) If that dint explain stuff - he's richer than my dad presently and my friend did enjoy the good things in life coz of this advantage bestowed upon him by birth :) I'm not cribbing here - jus presenting a real life example i've seen.

The point is that it is not with the caste. It is not that all the forward caste ppl are RICH. We ourselved know of so many poor brahmins etc who find it hard to meet ends for their everyday life. And there are so many rich SCs, STs, Muslims, Christian etc. How do you categorise between these ppl. Look at the injustice done to these poor Forward class people by this new rule (and the existing old rule too). And look at the advantage these rich backward castes enjoy in life.

They'll study with u, have fun in life (or perhaps i shud say "they do as much as they CAN") when u slog it out, score perhaps a good 5 percentage less than u (eg: between the really good 1140 and the very very common 1080 in std 12th) but still end up in a college ranked much higher than u (eg: u in GCT and him in Anna, or perhaps IIT). This is my problem with the whole reservation thingy. It gives unfair advantage to a particular group of people (who migth still be equal to, or may be higher than, the so called forward class in social status) and rank bad injustice to some others.

Perhaps my statements abt Mr.Ambedkar are misleading. What i mean is that the country, if at all, only needs a reservation based on economic status. Not this stupid one based caste. And i guess that without Ambedkar's childhood exp et al, may be he or someone else wud have seen what this can do. Jus May be!!! What is happening now is simply a way to cover their impotency (yeah that's the word) of the govt and the politicians in not being able to provide a basic structure for primary education and to eliminate this caste system in parts of india.

How would they do such stuff - that's the essence of their politics anyway :) They need those uneducated masses to listen to and beleive whatever bullshit they say and they will also need ppl from their caste and other "friendly" catse to vote for them. And yeah - kill ppl from those "unfriendly" castes too. Fuckers - 'A' rated fuckers todays politicians are!!!

Isnt this exactly the divide and rule policy used by the brits!?!? Perhaps this is even worser coz the ppl who are dividing our society are our own ppl.

@Sunil - they hate us educated ppl da. We are the ones asking those uncomfortable Questions :)
So what do they do - poor babies with a lotta power. Ring up the uncle in the kakhi dress and say "i wanna pee in my garden (like the good ol' days) and all these ppl are watching. so do something". Now uncle realises this is his time for either thanking him for the promotion, or making a case for one :)

So he takes his fauj there and starts "negotiating" to these ppl. The students are adamant saying they wont move. "Beep Beep" rings the fone and uncle hears "My bladder's gonna burst. 1 min and they shud be done".

Now how big is a promotion!??! Bigger than thy self, bigger than these stupid little students, bigger than the shame u can bring upon u on the way to getting promoted - and yeah, fuck the country!!! Use all ur powers, forget all ethics, ring up dhadha again "Wa clear sir"!!!

Reservation - i'm in da!!! To whom is the Q!!!

As both of us seem to agree, the primary education is what needs a boost. That is where they shud throw in all these policies etc. Make all schools take in so many % of people. Why wudnt they dare that!??! Why only the Cream of the crop!?!? That's coz this is what makes big news and helps them prepare a election manefesto next time around. This is what has IMMEDIATE effect for them. Changes in the primary education will not give them results now. So they just dont bother at all.

I totally differ from ur view that resevrations provide upliftment for the needy people. It basically provides a back door entry for those kind of ppl who live as normally as u and i do, but are not good enough!!! Look at the kind of people who turn up for IIT and IIM tests and u'll know the kind. There are people with these dream stories i agree - the ones who were madu mechifying and entered into an IIT and became a great great scientist. But he wud still get the same kind of allowances if we bring in resevrations based on economic status. That would serve the REALLY needy people.

Giving caste based reservations to ALL the backward class people, thru which a guy who had had all the chances to do well (good parenting, good school, money with the parents to send him to tutions et al) but one who is still pretty dumb and does not score well will get that benefit - this is really really bad. And this being done on such a large scale is what is frightening. Take a boy who studies in a govt school (where we know the kind of teachers and the quality of education), has to do extra work etc in the evening to help support his family, obviously no money for tution - and still scores around the same percentage as our first guy and gets kicked out coz he is a Forward class is just sick sick sick.

And yeah - 50% reservations is again because a mere 5% or 10% increase wudnt be "effective" :) How can u ever go back to ur bC voters and say i did something to u when what u did was only 10%!?!? Poor politician da!!! Mercy Mercy!!!
