I was so disappointed with Federer-Ancic match, there was no words to describe it. I was certainly angry.
What the fuck is Federer doing from the base line. Man this is wimbeldon not french open.
Even in 2001, they increased the height of the net and made the ball slightly oval so that it doesn't travel faster.
They are making grass courts suitable for base liners. How the hell do you otherwise expect people like Hewitt winning wimbeldon?
If they want to slower the track better remove grass, put clay there and paint it green.
This is a very good article which clearly says what is happening to the great art of serve&volley.
I guess cricket is also changed in a similar way after 1996. Chasing 300 is quite easy now a days. 400 is not rare. |

Federer is having a Clay court hangover :)
He's worked on that part of his game so hard for so long and has been playing in clay court a lot better than he did earlier. The trick abt Wimbledon is that the ATP calendar is full of clay court competitions before the grass court draw. There are few grass court games for practice - so many ppl have clay court hangovers when they come to London :)
BTW - did Hewitt win??? when i last saw, he was playing poor poor tennis and was getting a thrashing from Bagdhatis. 6-1, 3-0 when i saw!!!

Hewitt didn't get into Semis.. lost to Bagdhatis in 4 sets?!

Nadal cant win Wimbledon!!! I'm brave enough to say this inspite of my miserable failures at being an WC 06 oracle :(
I guess this is gonna be another Federer show all the way. He'll get over the hangover very soon.

Hmm. That sounds much like it. Hewitt was looking so ordinary, Bagdhatis was like winnign every point i saw.
Nadal beat agassi yes, but Agassi is old. He must have been with Steffi getin that life time achievement award :) I'm waiting for Nadal to get some good comeptition. Or has he already defeated someone strong!?!?
